Unser Auftraggeber DeinAdieu.ch hat eine spannende Studie verfasst zum Thema «Erbschaften bei Non-Profit-Organisationen«. Die Studie ist das Ergebnis einer Umfrage, an der 122 Schweizer gemeinnützige Organisationen teilgenommen haben. Die Umfrage zeigt: Bei Erbschaften und Legaten gibt es noch ein enormes, brach liegendes Potential.

Tiere und Umwelt an erster Stelle

In der Schweiz setzen Erblasser ihr frei verfügbares Vermögen am häufigsten für den Tier-, Natur- und Umweltschutz ein. Viel seltener hingegen hinterlassen sie ihr Geld Organisationen für Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und Flüchtlinge. Eine mögliche Erklärung: Solche Themen sind weniger greifbar.

Mehr Spielraum dank neuem Erbrecht

Hohe Pflichtteile zu Gunsten der gesetzlichen Erben schränken Erblasser in der Schweiz noch stark ein. Eine geplante Erbrechtsrevision dürfte den Markt mit einem Erbschaftsvolumen von jährlich 95 Milliarden Franken für Fundraiser noch attraktiver machen. Mit dem revidierten Erbrecht, über das in der Schweiz 2021 abgestimmt wird, dürfte das frei verteilbare Erbvolumen dank tieferer Pflichtteile stark zunehmen.

Einige Erkenntnisse der Umfrage sind am 8. Oktober 2020 in einem exklusiven Artikel auf «20 Minuten» erschienen. Eine Präsentation der Umfrage gab es zudem am SwissFundraisingDay in Bern. In einem Gastbeitrag im Fundraiser-Magazin 1/2021 beleuchtet nun Nicolas Gehrig, Geschäftsführer von DeinAdieu.ch, wie Fundraiser die hohen Erbvermögen besser erschliessen können.
